PRESENTER INFORMATION
Presentations:
Presentations are scheduled for 25 minutes. Presenters should plan to use their time slots with 20 minutes of presenting their research and 5 minutes for audience questions. Please try to have your presentation finished and uploaded to the laptop provided in your session room during the registration progress or the day before your talk is scheduled at the latest. Bring your presentation on a Windows readable USB flash drive or CD-ROM.
Equipment:
Session rooms will be equipped with a data projector, screen, audio capabilities, a laptop with a Windows-readable USB flash drive and CD-ROM drive and laser pointer. The laptops run on Windows 7 and use Office 2010. Bring your presentation on a Windows readable USB flash drive or CD-ROM. NOTE: Macs can write to a PC-formatted readable flash drive.
Detailed Presentation Information and Advice:
To help avoid problems with your presentation, please follow these guidelines.
Speakers should arrive in the session room ½ hour before their session begins.
Your presentation should be tested and loaded to the appropriate session folder in your designated session room at least 3 hours prior to the start of your session. Files may be transferred via USB hard drive (Pocket Drive), USB flash drive, CD-ROM, CD-R or DVD.
Presentations must be in one of these supported file types: PowerPoint (.ppt, .pps, .pptx, .ppsx) or Portable document format (.pdf).
Advice for MAC Presentations:
The operating system on the session room PCs will be Windows 7 Professional, and software will include: Microsoft Office 2010, Adobe Acrobat Reader X, QuickTime*, Windows Media Player, Flash Player, VLC Player.
We strongly recommend that you test your Mac-produced presentation on a Windows based system before arriving at the meeting AND that you come to the Speaker Readiness Area at least 3 hours prior to the start of your session (not the start of your presentation) - as nothing can guarantee that your presentation will appear and behave as you intended without testing it in the Speaker Readiness Area on the rental PC's.
